Role: Care Co-ordinator position, part time, based at Bright Care Edinburgh Office

£17,000 to £18.000 (pro rata)

Bright Care is a private in-home care and companionship business for older people. Our service is delivered through home visits of two hours or more with people who require additional support to live independently at home.

Successful applicants will share our ethos and passion for high quality care. A BrightCare Coordinator is employed to create all the weekly rosters for care staff and clients ensuring that each client receives the visits they require at home in accordance with their needs and requests.

We have offices in Edinburgh, Perth, South Glasgow (Clarkston) and Dunbartonshire (Bearsden).

Due to business growth we are currently recruiting a part time Care Co-ordinator for our Edinburgh office. Care Co-ordinator's report directly to the Care Manager.

Our Care Co-ordinator's are responsible for the management of the direct provision and responsible for the management of BrightCare's scheduling systems and have shared responsibility for quality assurance of the care and support provided in our service. The primary responsibility of this role involves working alongside the Care Manager and the Care Management team in organising the care workforce to deliver practical care, companionship and assistance to our elderly customers living in their own homes.

Candidates will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities associated with being in a supervisory role in a care service for older people.

Successful Care Co-ordinators will have the ability to effectively communicate with care staff, clients and their families, and other professionals. They must have experience of working with people from all ethnic origins preferably within a social care setting, and be qualified or be eager to, work towards a minimum of SVQ level 3 in social care.

Effective communication skills and attention to detail are essential, as well as the business acumen and ability to guide the service through continual growth, development and improvement.

Hours of work: 20 hours per week normally over 5 days Monday to Friday. 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. and involving some evenings and weekend work for On Call service provision.

The successful applicant will also be a driver with their own and/or have use of a car on a daily basis.
